DJ Gann

Known by the moniker "DJ Gann," he has DJ'd everything from upscale art openings, private parties and LA clubs to large-scale events put on by the Sphere Company. Other music accomplishments include freelance writing for LA based Music Connection and MeanStreet magazines. Has also worked in talent development for several record companies including, MCA Records, House of Blues Record Company, Hollywood Records and EMI Records. Began as a youth playing in LA clubs as a bassist and was signed to both MCA records and Rocket Records/MCA (Elton John).

The Yard - Resident DJ at this Santa Monica hipster venue ("Mosaic").

Beauty Bar (Hollywood) - "Sound and Vision," co-DJ'd (along with DJKA) this all David Bowie night. This included the release party for Bowie's CD, "Heathen."

"Pajamara" - Another night at the Beauty Bar featuring all Brit-pop music

3 Clubs - Popular LA nightclub located in the heart of Hollywood

Fais Do Do - Spun at this LA nightspot, including the annual corporate party for Hype, a boutique Public Relations firm.

Production Credits

Folding Edifice - Produced indie CD recorded at 4th St. Recording in Santa Monica, CA. - a studio formerly used by artists, No Doubt, Brian Setzer, Fiona Apple and others. The CD was written up as a "must have" in MeanStreet Magazinešs year-end "Best Of" issue." Band also garnered rave reviews from MusesMuse.com, Garageband.com (Artist of the Day), and the International Pop Overthrow Festival.

Weeds of Saturn - (Eye-Guy Records) Produced and performed on this indie CD that became a "semi-finalist" in Musician Magazine's national search for "The best-unsigned bands." Also garnered the attention of producer, Mark Wolfson ("That Thing You Do" (soundtrack), Stone Temple Pilots, Talking Heads).

"The Music Hour" - Developed and produced this innovative, rock music cable television. Show included a segment that gave exposure to some of LAšs hottest new acts. Other facets included a unique CD review segment as well as a spot where artists could air their political and social views. A special unplugged performance segment sometimes featured related material. Incurred interest from VH1.

Video and Music Programming - Programmed English speaking videos for a popular syndicated, Latin American music television show. Also programmed music for high-end boutiques and salons in the greater Los Angeles area.

Musician

Moderne Music - Was signed to Elton John's label, Rocket Records (MCA). I, along with Tom Davis, (head engineer for 525, Post Logic and currently Seismic Sound in Nashville) also produced the sessions.

The Bottles - Joined this band signed to MCA Records and managed by Jon Schienberg.

Lovesongs Records - Signed to Mike Love's (Beach Boys) label. Amongst various projects, worked on the soundtrack for the film "Almost Summer" for MCA/Universal Pictures.

Session work - Bass session work for various artists in the Los Angeles area.
